Central Scottsdale comprises a wide swath of land, with Camelback Road to the north, Pima Road to the east, Indian Bend to the south, and Scottsdale Road to the west. There are several subdivisions within this community including the gated Scottsdale Links Estates, which features luxury homes.
Nearby Santa Maria Villa has moderately priced homes with smaller square footage, built in the late 1970s, early 1980s. This subdivision is centrally located, near Saguaro High School. The nearby Park Scottsdale subdivision was built in two phases in the 1960s and 1970s, the first being near Pima just south of Indian School and the second near McDonald and Granite Reef. These subdivisions include both single family and two-story town homes (built by Hallcraft), with an average square footage of 1,500 square feet.
Chateau De Vie is a community with one and two-story townhomes, with 2-3 bedrooms and 2-2.5 baths, all with private patios and covered parking. Many of these units have been extensively remodeled. Scottsdale Shadows is a condominium community with its own 9-hole executive golf course, 3 swimming pool facilities, 2 Tennis courts and separate men’s and women’s fitness centers.
There is a plethora of parks within Central Scottsdale including the popular McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, Chaparral Park, Mountain View Park, and Zuni Park, among others, which feature a wide range of athletic fields, walking paths, fitness trails and tennis courts. Top Golf Scottsdale and Talking Stick Resort and Casino are other fun entertainment options in this community.
Golf courses abound in Central Scottsdale, from the links at the Scottsdale-Silverado Golf Club to the courses within McCormick Ranch and Gainey Ranch proper just to the north.
There are several shopping centers in Central Scottsdale such as the Shops at Gainey Village and The Pavilions at Talking Stick. The luxury Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall with hundreds of high-end and mid-level retail shops is located nearby as well.
The Scottsdale School District serves family-friendly Central Scottsdale, including Cochise and Kiva Elementary Schools, Mohave and Cocopah Middle Schools, as well as Chaparral and Saguaro High Schools.
